The Deep River State Trail in Ramseur has two sections separated by the currently impassable Harlan Creek, where a bridge will be built in the future. The fine gravel trail on both sides takes you through a lovely hardwood forest with glimpses of the river along the way. On the eastern section of the trail, you discover the remains of a dam, the site of the old Columbia Manufacturing Company, a cotton mill built in 1850.
