The Town of Staley
The Town of Staley, founded in 1889, was named for Col. John Staley, a Confederate officer in the Civil War. The town is conveniently located 20 miles northeast of Asheboro, five miles southeast of Liberty, and nearly nine miles northeast of Ramseur.
Twice a year the Liberty Antiques Festival is held in Staley which attracts visitors from all over the country. Antiques enthusiasts gather for this two-day event to buy and sell all kinds of unique and wonderful finds including accessories, pottery, glass, clocks, dolls, toys, military items, advertising, decoys, jewelry, quilts, folk art, and "in the rough" country Americana.
Staley is served by five Asheboro area hotels.
